Feeling like I'll never get better, even though I'm not THAT ill anymore it's just taking forever to go T_T

So I'm going to the expo on Saturday, though my Resi Alice costume hasn't arrived (so basically no cosplay) but at least I've done a competition entry this time. Hope I get a mention, though I know I won't win with something that basic.

Also getting to the point that I'm going to need to make a portfolio for applying to arty courses. If anyone has any advice/guidance, I really need it! I haven't got any sketchbooks from schoolwork so it's all going to be my rather samey manganess. And some image manipulation too I guess.

In the meantime, here's some stuff to do:

- Make sample commissions to put up around college (because I'm a self promoting whore of course)
- Make some new character designs and finish a piece on my Fable 2 character.
- Anything that might come in useful for my portfolio interviews.
- Christmas card design ideas

Just came back from Worthing, was cool and relaxing. Oh and for those of you who don't know, I'm entering a competition held by the Japanese Embassy for the UK - draw 6-8 pages of manga with reference to the "sun" for 25 September. Third place gets camera, second place gets laptop, first place gets 2 return tickets to Japan. So here's a list for myself so I know what I have left to do:

DONE
- Dialogue/Script
- Page layout for 1,2,5,7.
- Poster design for part of the first page.
- Brooks Sisters, The Vampiress and The Mermaid Queen costume design.
- A few drawings for pg. 1 and 2.

TO DO
- Page layout for 3,4,6.
- Costume design for Elaida the Seer.
- and obviously the drawings themselves...

Right, better get to it I guess. Wish me luck^^

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like my entry for the MCM Expo is working out. Though, I've decided to be a lot more strict with myself for the October one, if I don't get one completed in time I'm going to draw one on the day. And to anyone else going, please make sure I go through with it. In the meantime though, I've still got plenty to do as always:

- Sophie's Amelie drawing (Mostly inked)
- Tomomi Sensei's birthday drawing... anyone got any ideas? Ideally something traditionally Japanese.
- ~El-Crabio's birthday drawing. Anything he wants I suppose, though right now I think I'm only comfortable drawing women. So let me know. No Jessica Alba.

Going to be doing some life drawing over the summer, but I don't suppose I'll upload them here unless my model(s) are OK with it.

Seeing as it always seems to work that if I write a journal entry, I immediately start finishing work I've been meaning to for ages, I figured I'd make a list for myself of stuff I've promised to get done for people.

1- ~tom564: Sophie birthday drawing. Might just give up and make him a doubly nice one for his next one, or something (his next one is closer to now than his last one is..)
2- ~ReddWillow: House of Flying Daggers birthday drawing.
3- Dooplis: Higurashi no Naku Koro ni birthday drawing.
4- ~pumpkinbomb: Birthday drawing. Don't know whether this will actually be a drawing or proper present, just thought it might be good to write it down.

Additionally:

5- ~El-Crabio 2nd of March drawing.. pretty sure he expected this so it's no secret.
6- Design shared party invitations.
7- Work on Digital Imaging CD artwork.
